The “Walking Tour” was organized, conducted, and facilitated by WRT Architectural led by John Gibbs, Principal Landscape Architect, Jacob Tobias, Senior Associate Landscape Architect, and two colleagues of the firm.

Following a greeting and introduction at Posy Park, the participants were divided into two groups, led by John and Jacob. The groups walk from the starting point south on San Mateo Avenue, one group on each side of the street.

Participants observed the shops, sidewalks, intersections, benches, bicycle racks, and all points of interest. The architects encouraged comments, suggestions, and ideas of each person’s vision towards the improvement and upgrading of San Mateo Avenue. A wide spectrum of creative ideas were expressed and the Architectural and City Staff recorded the ideas that would assist them in creating a plan that would eventually be presented to the San Bruno City Council.

Darcy Smith, San Bruno Director of Development, and Rucha Dande, Associate Planner were present as just a few members of our City Staff.

At the conclusion of the walking tour, just past noon, a written evaluation form was distributed and an announcement was made to the next follow-up meeting.
