Who's Running For Office In San Bruno
Three candidates are running for two open seats on the San Bruno City Council.

SAN BRUNO, CA -- With longtime San Bruno Mayor Jim Ruane announcing in August that he would not seek re-election, a current city councilmember and a local property manager are running to replace him in Tuesday's election.
Councilman Rico Medina has broad support from other local politicians in his campaign to become mayor, with Ruane, Rep. Jackie Speier, state Sen. Jerry Hill, state Assembly Speaker pro Tempore Kevin Mullin, and
multiple county and city officials endorsing him.
Medina has served on the City Council for 12 years, including during the deadly PG&E pipeline explosion on Sept. 9, 2010.

Ruane, who has been on the City Council since 1995, said in August that he was stepping down to spend more time with his family.
San Bruno is one of four cities in San Mateo County with city council races in Tuesday's election.
In the San Mateo City Council race, incumbents, Rick Bonilla and Joe Goethals, are running for the seats, as are school board president Chelsea Bonini, planning commissioners Eric Rodriguez and Charlie Drechsler, retired businessman Mark De Paula and businessman Robert Newsom Jr.
Cliff Lentz and W. Clarke Conway are the two incumbents among six candidates competing for three open seats on the Brisbane City Council, with insurance broker Tony Verreos, planning commissioner Jameel Munir, business owner Karen Cunningham and educator Dana Dillworth also in the race.
In Burlingame, Mayor Ricardo Ortiz, Vice Mayor Michael Brownrigg and Councilwoman Ann Keighran are all seeking to keep their seats, with assistant retail manager Steve Duncan the lone challenger in the four-candidate race.
