Bartender Insanity, Mosquito Magnets and a Visit from Obama

Apparently this “flair bartending” is still a thing, and, lucky us, the world championships of this, um … sport … are at the Irvine Spectrum Dave & Busters on Thursday.

3. The latest buzz on mosquitoes: Are you a mosquito magnet? Researchers have discovered the tiny bloodsuckers prefer some people’s body odor four times as much as others. A study is underway to figure out what factors are involved. Read about it here.

4. Winding down: The Orange County Fair continues through Sunday with pig races, deep-fried food, carnival rides, exhibits and more. 5. Auto talk: USA.gov urges drivers to download the Safer Car from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The app lets drivers look up a vehicle’s crash test results and get notifications of important car recalls and new safety information. The app even gives driving directions and can help on properly installing child car seats.
