Care Packages on their Way to Afghanistan

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce, the city and an Eagle Scout prepared 100 large boxes of supplies to the city's adopted Marine unit now deployed in Afghanistan.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is the text of an email from former San Clemente Councilman and advocate for local Marines Wayne Eggleston.

Nov. 18 and 19, the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce and the city of San Clemente, with the help of Eagle Scout Sam Brown, shipped 100 large boxes of supplies to our adopted unit 2nd battalion 4th Marines deployed to Afghanistan.

Packages included coffee, razors, bay wipes, sun screen, lip balm, tuna/chicken salad can meats, protein bars, hot sauce, bar soap, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, tooth paste/brushes, etc.
