Man Struck By Train in San Clemente Identified
Witnesses say the man threw himself into the path of the train.
A man who apparently took his own life by jumping in front of an Amtrak train in San Clemente was identified today by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Jacob Mackey, 23, was struck about 1:25 p.m. Saturday, by an Amtrak train at the pier in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria, authorities said.
Witnesses said the man appeared to intentionally throw himself in front of the train.
