San Clemente HS Football Team Trounces Competition 63-3; OC High School Football Scores

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Looks like the new uniforms are working for Mission Viejo High School, who solidly beat La Habra in a 32-14 victory on Friday. Other Orange County schools who showed their prowess included the solid victory of Buena Park over Warren, 42-0, but no score came close to the trouncing of San Clemente over Roosevelt, 63-3.

Perhaps it was the military pride in the air, the flyover by Orange County Sheriff's Helicopters, or just the San Clemente scored on the first three plays of the game, and put 42 points on the board in the first quarter.

Quarterback Jack Sears' numbers were 10 for 11 passes totaling 223 yards, and five touch downs in just the first quarter. La Habra landed a field goal in the second quarter to put points on the board. In the third, interceptions by the Triton defense allowed for two more touchdowns. Lush had his chance to play at QB with Sears earning a well deserved rest.

"Dominant isn't even strong enough of a word for San Clemente's quarter," sports reporter Zach Cavanagh tweeted from the game.

Elsewhere in Orange County, the Los Alamitos home opener on a brand new field, the mighty Griffins came back for the win over Lakewood, 32-12.
