5/7/2021…San Clemente, California… The City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with Orange County Sheriff's Department, is hosting a bike safety rodeo on May 26, 2021, 3-5 p.m. at the Vista Hermosa Sports Park (987 Avenida Vista Hermosa). San Clemente City Council has proclaimed May as Bike Month and is encouraging all residents to focus on bicycle safety and the benefits of bike riding.
The Rodeo is free to children ages 5 and older; pre-registration is required to manage crowds and ensure proper social distancing requirements are met. The event will include helmet checks and a bike safety course led by OCSD Explorers and Sheriff’s Deputies, with special giveaways and promos by local bike shops. All attendees will be awarded a bike safety certificate and will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Murf e-bike.
Bicycling is one of the best ways to get exercise, see the sights and reduce your carbon footprint. However, bicyclists face a host of hazards, especially now with more e-bikes on the roadways. Join us for some fun, giveaways, and educational opportunities as we celebrate Bike Month.
For more information and to register, contact the City of San Clemente Recreation Division at (949) 361-8264, (949) 429-8797, or http://san-clemente.org/events.
