San Clemente City Council: Special Election 2019 Live Results

SAN CLEMENTE, CA —A special municipal election is underway in San Clemente, to fill the seat left vacant after Council Member Steve Swartz's death in May.

Five candidates battled for the short-term seat, their experience varying from security consultant to business owners, and from a former police officer to a local high school graduate. Voters will decide who will best represent the city through mail-in ballots, due Tuesday.

Voting registration officially closed Oct. 21, and all mail ballots have been delivered to registered voters, the OC Registrar of Voters has said. All ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 5 to arrive at the Office of the Orange County Registrar of Voters by Nov. 8, according to that office.
