San Clemente Council Set to Pick New Mayor
The members choose from among their number to serve for the next year; the title typically rotates among the members.
San Clemente Mayor Lori Donchak will likely step aside Tuesday night and allow a colleague to assume the role.
The City Council, according to Tuesday's agenda, is set to pick a new mayor. The members typically all take a turn serving as mayor for a year.
Councilman Jim Dahl was mayor before Donchak.

The council will also meet in closed session to discuss, among other items, two lawsuits filed by Shaheen Sadeghi, the erstwhile developer of the planned Playa del Norte, the retail-restaurant development at North Beach

Also at the meeting, city staffers have recommended that the council award a construction contract to complete improvements to the sidewalk around Max Berg Plaza Park as part of a Safe Routes to School grant.
If approved, the $995,000 contract would go to ATOM Engineering Construction.
