San Clemente Holds At 43 Residents With Coronavirus Friday
On Friday, as our neighbors look for new normalcy, 3 Orange County residents died and 77 more people were infected as a result of COVID19.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — Three more COVID-19 deaths were reported Friday by Orange County health officials, increasing the death toll to nine in three days and 28 overall. Testing has continued across the county, showing 77 more people have tested positive for the virus.
Orange County Health Care Agency officials announced that 1,501 people are currently affected by the illness.
There were 129 people hospitalized due to the virus on Friday, 48 of whom are in the ICU wards. These numbers declined since Thursday, however, the numbers were based on 23 of the 24 area hospitals reporting in data.

"Despite the fluctuation of cases we see ... the number of hospitalizations remains comparatively low," Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Michelle Steel said at a Thursday news conference. "We are seeing stabilization of cases in this area."
Of the county's total cases:

- 27 people are under 18 years old;
- 118 people are between 18-24;
- 248 people are between 25-34;
- 219 people are between 35-44;
- 589 people are between 45-64;
- 300 people are 65 or older.
Men make up over half of the county's cases, and over half of those who have succumbed to COVID-19. Of the deaths:
- 2 were 25 to 34 years old,
- 1 was 35 to 44,
- 10 were 45 to 64,
- 15 were 65 or older.
Of the deceased, 16 men and 12 women have died as a result of coronavirus, OC Health Care reported.
It was not known if the deceased had underlying health conditions as of this report.
The newly collected data of ethnicity shows that of those who have died in Orange County:
- 10 were Asian
- 6 were white
- 8 were Latino
- 2 were black or African American
- 2 were not classified
Anaheim has the most COVID-19 cases in the county with 178, followed by Santa Ana with 149 and Irvine with 111. Huntington Beach has 103, but Newport Beach is close behind with 90.
Newport Beach's numbers did not change, overnight, for the second time this week.

Huntington Beach Residents fight the safer-at-Home Orders
While ordinances are in place for social distancing and mask wearing, hundreds gathered to protest Stay-At-Home Orders in Huntington Beach, Friday afternoon.
Coronavirus cancellations continue
Two more major events went up on the chopping block Friday.
First, pop superstar Taylor Swift cancelled all her upcoming shows through 2020. Current ticket-holders will be able to keep their tickets when the shows are rescheduled, otherwise they can request refunds through Ticketmaster.
Then Disneyland cancelled their annual senior Grad Nite field trips. Parents and students who had been planning to attend this year are advised to coordinate with their group organizers to talk about the change in plans.
