WATCH: A Demolition in South O.C.

Empty since 2010, the second largest building in Laguna Niguel, will be demolished to make way for Life Time Fitness Friday.The new gym is the Minnesota-based company's first in California.

The demolition of the former Home Depot Expo Design Center at The Center of Rancho Niguel, once housing home goods of every shape and size, began Friday.

The work makes way for Life Time Fitness.

The location at 25600 Rancho Viejo Road is the Minnesota-based company’s first entry into the California market, and includes the complete teardown of the building overlooking the San Joaquin (73) toll road.

The Life Time Fitness Center will be about 128,000 square feet, employ 250 people.
