1,000 Toys Needed For Giveaway
Davis Street has a long list of children who are waiting for Christmas presents.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Davis Street Family Resource Center put out an urgent appeal for toys and gift cards Thursday morning, saying that it is short more than 1,000 gifts for children. Christmas is next Wednesday.
In particular, requests for gifts for children ages nine and older more than doubled over last year.
As of Thursday morning, more than 300 toys were needed for children from newborn to age 4; more than 300 for the 5-8 age group, and more than 700 for age 9 and older.

You may drop off new, unwrapped toys or gift cards at 3081 Teagarden Street in San Leandro on Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. You may also make a monetary donation online.
Non-perishable food donations are always welcome.
