2 Arrests In Robbery of Elderly Asian Man
The accused juveniles are just 11 and 17 years old, according to the San Leandro Police Department.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Two juvenile suspects, one 11-years-old and the other 17, were arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of strong-arm robbery. San Leandro Police say the pair attacked and robbed an 80-year-old Asian man last Saturday as he was walking in the 14200 block Acapulco Road.
The victim sustained minor injuries when the suspects pushed him to the ground and demanded his wallet. “As the victim screamed for help, the suspects forcefully removed the victim’s Fitbit wrist band and fled in a blue Subaru sedan,” police said in a release on Tuesday.
“In March, the San Leandro Police Department conducted a victim demographic study, where violent crime statistics were compared from 2019 to 2020. SLPD discovered an increase of 283% in crimes against our Asian community members,” said Police Lt. Ali Khan.
