$3,000 Grants Available For Earthquake Brace And Bolt Program

Eligible San Leandro homeowners are eligible for the monty.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro homeowners are eligible to receive up to $3,000 to help strengthen their homes in the event of a major earthquake through the Earthquake Brace and Bolt Program. Qualifying homes are typically pre-1979 houses that are not bolted to foundations, are built atop a crawl space, and have unbraced "cripple walls" surrounding the crawl space.

You must be a qualified homeowner in the 94577, 94578, and 94579 zip codes. The registration period runs from Oct. 9 to Nov. 23.

In the last Brace and Bolt program, 185 San Leandro homeowners were awarded or in the process of receiving up to $3,000 to retrofit their homes in 2018.
