Alameda County Fire Department Receives New Training Resources

AT&T and the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) recently upgraded their search and rescue training facility in San Leandro by installing four new utility poles. Training at the facility allows firefighters to practice specialized techniques for complex rescue scenarios.

“This department serves Alameda County with precision, speed, and focus,” said Rob Schnepp, ACFD Division Chief of Special Operations. “AT&T has really stepped in to give our members the resources they deserve to continue being the best technical rescue team in the Bay Area.”

As one of the oldest companies in the world, AT&T has a long history of providing infrastructure in the name of public safety and disaster recovery. AT&T is the first company nationwide to receive United States Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Private Sector Preparedness Program (PS-Prep) Certification. AT&T has deployed personnel and resources to provide communications for emergency workers and displaced citizens in disaster situations such as wildfires here in California.
