Caltrans Plans I-580 Road Work In San Leandro

The work is scheduled to be performed six days a week.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Caltrans announced Thursday roadwork will begin in June on sections of Interstate Highway 580 in San Leandro and Oakland.

The roadwork will include paving, guardrail repair and maintenance work at various locations along the interstate.

The locations and times of the work will vary, but it is scheduled to be performed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The work will not close more than two lanes of the highway at a time.

Caltrans is starting the roadwork in June due to take advantage of the light traffic during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place ordinance, officials said.
