Celebrate Chinese New Year In San Leandro

Welcome the Year of the Pig with fun activities for the whole family.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — In Chinese culture, pigs are the symbol of wealth. Welcome the Lunar Year, the Year of the Pig, at the San Leandro Main Library this Saturday.

The Asian Community Cultural Association of San Leandro will kick things off in the morning with a paper craft making session at 10:45.

In the afternoon, starting at 1 p.m., there will be live performances including a spectacular Dragon Dance, an enchanting show by master magician Dan Chan, and traditional dancing by the Thai Cultural Council of Berkeley.

The library's Chinese Story Time for toddlers program is also on the agenda. Admission is free and is open to all residents. Light refreshments will be served.
