Electrical Fire Temporarily Closes Horatio's
Horatio's has been a landmark at the San Leandro Marina since 1979.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Horatio's Restaurant at the San Leandro Marina is temporarily closed because of an electrical fire. The good news is that there's no fire damage to the restaurant, so after electrical work and an inspection, it will reopen. No injuries were reported.
The Alameda County Fire Department reports that it was notified of the electrical fire at 12:42 p.m. on Thursday. "Firefighters arrived to find light smoke coming from the electrical panel," they report. "The utilities were immediately secured and the smoke dissipated. As a safety precaution, all guests and employees inside of the restaurant were evacuated and the power was shut off."
Horatio's has been a go-to restaurant for many local families for 40 years. Before long you'll again be able to nibble their yummy bread — seconds, please — and eat their excellent seafood and steaks while gazing out at the boats.
