Firefighters Rescue 7 Ducklings From Storm Drain
Make Way for Ducklings in San Leandro! Alameda County firefighters have given the 7 downy birds a shot at sprouting feathers.
SAN LEANDRO, CA - They put out fires, rush to traffic accidents and help people experiencing medical emergencies. Oh, and they rescue ducklings so tiny that they fall through the holes of storm drain grates.
Alameda County firefighters from Rescue 24 and Engine 24 scooped the little guys from a storm drain at 164th Avenue and Liberty, in unincorporated San Leandro.
Their mama was camera-shy, but firefighters returned her ducklings so she could give them proper instruction on avoiding storm sewers in the future.
