SAN LEANDRO, CA — The Alameda County Fire Dept. is offering a free community chipping service now through July 2019, for certain designated areas situated near the top of Bay O Vista and in proximity to Lake Chabot.

This free service will assist residents in high fire severity areas to reduce vegetation and create defensible space by helping with the chipping of material that is too large for green bins and too small for commercial chipping providers.
