Free Summer Lunches Offered in San Leandro, Hayward, Oakland

There are five locations serving lunch.

A child's appetite doesn't end when the final school bell rings for summer. But for kids who rely on free school lunches, summertime brings uncertainty to struggling families.

Alameda County Social Services Agency is providing free lunches in San Leandro, Hayward and Oakland this summer, from June 23 - August 11. No pre-registration is required, just drop-in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Here are the requirements:

  • Meals are for children & teens only.  No one over age 18 will be served a meal.
  • Meals must be eaten in the designated dining area.  Food cannot be taken from this site.
  • Lunch will only be served between 11:00 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m.
  • Meals are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last.
  • Young children must be attended by a parent or adult caregiver while eating on site.
  • The daily menu will be posted at the site. No modifications are available.
  • Adults cannot eat at this site.
