Victim of Possible Train Suicide in Hayward Named
56-year-old Patricia Ann Sherwood of Hayward was struck at West Blossom Way at approximately 8 p.m.

A woman who was struck and killed by a train Sunday night in unincorporated Hayward has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 56-year-old Patricia Ann Sherwood of Hayward.
Sherwood was struck by the train on West Blossom Way near Times Avenue at about 8 p.m. Sunday, Alameda County sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

The death is being investigated as a possible suicide, Nelson said.
Nelson was uncertain whether the train involved was a passenger or freight train.
