Police Officer Aiming to Raise $23,000 for Holiday Bike Fundraiser

For the past year, one of our officers has been working hard to raise funds to provide some less-fortunate children with gifts for the holidays.

Officer Louie Brandt raises money annually to build bicycles and donate them to local children at the Davis Street Family Resource Center in San Leandro.

In 2011, . This was almost three times more money than in the prior year.

This year, Brandt is setting a higher goal to raise $23,000 allowing him to impact more children. Brandt has raised more than $20,000 thus far.

“This is an amazing program for a great cause," said Captain Tracey. "Louie is very busy like all of us, but he still finds time to raise funds for these local children. Daily we hear of how bad the economy is, but citizens and local businesses continue to show their generosity and donate to this great cause. Officer Louie Brandt is confident our community will pull together and help him reach his goal.”
