Police Seek SUV Driver Who Offered Schoolgirl A Ride
Teen near San Leandro BART complained of being followed.

San Leandro police say an incident that occurred Tuesday morning should alert parents to have a safety talk with their school-age children.
At about 8:35 am, a 15-year-old girl was walking to school near the San Leandro BART Station when a blue- or teal-colored sports utility vehicle with oversized wheels and tires pulled up beside her.

The girl told police the driver offered her a ride. When she ignored him and continued walking, the driver continued to follow her.
The girl, fearing for her safety, ran off and reported the incident immediately.

"We are not sure what his intentions were but we are taking this incident very seriously," said Lt. Randall Brandt.
