San Leandro Activates Cooling Centers

Beat the heat at one of two sites this week

In response to the heat advisory this week, the City of San Leandro has activated Cooling Centers for residents to get relief from the heat. Cooling Centers have been activated at the Marina Community Center, 15301 Wicks Blvd and the Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave. Both sites will be open from Tuesday September 8 to Friday September 11 from 11a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Cooling Centers will offer air-conditioned spaces where residents can enjoy activities such as family-friendly movies and games. Residents are advised to bring their own food items, medications and other items necessary for comfort. Vending machines are available at the Marina Community Center location. Pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals. The City’s Flex Shuttle makes regular stops at both Cooling Center locations.
