San Leandro Crash Victim Identified
She was thrown from a speeding car and killed early Monday.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A 25-year-old San Leandro woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal Santa Clara car crash early Monday morning, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
Alyssa Funes and a 29-year-old San Leandro man were in a black Honda Fit traveling east on Cabrillo Avenue at 1:27 a.m. when they hit several parked cars at a high speed, according to police.
Both were ejected from the car in the 3300 block of Cabrillo, and Nunes succumbed to her injuries at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The male passenger was hospitalized in critical condition as of Tuesday.

Officers are trying to determine who was driving the car at the time of the crash, and whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Family members of Nunes created a GoFundMe donation page Tuesday to pay for funeral costs.

"Alyssa was a beautiful spirit that was tragically taken too soon from this world. She brought joy, light, and laughter to all those she knew. She was loved tremendously by her family and friends, and will forever be missed and remembered," the page says.
