San Leandro Man, 18, Dies After Crash In East Oakland

A man died early Sunday morning after crashing into a parked car and then slamming into a building.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — An 18-year-old San Leandro man died early Sunday morning after his vehicle collided with a parked car and a building in Oakland, officials said.

The crash was reported on the 6500 block of International Boulevard, where the man's Honda Fit was traveling at a high rate of speed before he struck the parked car before veering into a building on the corner of 65th Avenue and International Boulevard, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Oakland Fire officials attempted to render aid to the man, whose name was not released, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, police said.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information was asked to contact the Oakland Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit at 510-777-8570.
