SAN LEANDRO, CA — A woman struck and killed while walking on a Hayward highway last week has been identified as a 27-year-old San Leandro resident.
Jessica Avina was hit by a vehicle at about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate Highway 880 near the West Tennyson Road off-ramp, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
CHP officials released few details about what led to her death, but asked anyone with further information to contact Officer Shepardson at (510) 489-1500.
