San Leandro Woman Who Died After Ambulance Crash Identified
Four other people were injured in the crash including 3 emergency workers.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A patient who died after an ambulance she was in flipped over when it was struck by a car in San Lorenzo on Monday was identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 74-year-old Catherine Sunday of San Leandro.
Four other people, including three emergency workers and the driver of the Audi that slammed into the ambulance, were also injured in the collision, which occurred at the intersection of Hesperian and Lewelling
boulevards at about 11:10 a.m. on Monday, according to CHP Officer Dan Jacowitz.
The Paramedics Plus ambulance was headed south on Hesperian with its light on and its sirens activated when it was hit by the Audi, which was headed east on Lewelling, Jacowitz said.

All five patients were taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and Sunday was pronounced dead there on Monday afternoon.
The Audi driver suffered moderate injuries and remained in the hospital after the collision but the three emergency workers in the ambulance were released from the hospital on Monday afternoon, according to Jacowitz.
