Sign of the Times: Restoration of Manor Icon

Work should begin this week on a project involving the city and the San Leandro Optimist Club.

The San Leandro Optimist Club and the City of San Leandro have joined together to restore the Manor Shopping Center sign.

This neon sign has stood since the early 1950s as a iconic part of the Washington Manor neighborhood.

Work should begin this week to restore the glory and renew the memories this landmark has brought to generations in Washington Manor.

Work is scheduled to complete mid May.
