Three significant auto theft and burglary investigations that happened over the weekend.
Stolen vehicles recovered by off duty officer: On Friday, two vehicles were reported stolen from a car dealership located on Marina Boulevard. On Saturday, an alert off duty SLPD officer was driving to work and located both of the vehicles unoccupied in Oakland. Both vehicles were recovered and returned to the dealership.
Suspects arrested for trying to break into vehicles: On Sunday, approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the 14800 block of E. 14th Street for the report of an automotive burglary in progress. Two possible suspects, juvenile males from Oakland, were detained nearby and a witness positively identified them as the suspects in the incident. Both subjects were arrested for the incident.Â
Subject arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle: On Monday, approximately 1:15 a.m., a patrol officer was patrolling in the 2000 block of Durant Avenue. He observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area. The vehicle was abandoned and a possible suspect was stopped nearby. The officer determined the vehicle had been reported stolen on Sunday to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. The subject, 36-year-old Veronica Gussman from Hayward, was arrested for the incident.Find out what's happening in San Leandrofor free with the latest updates from Patch.
