Special Grandmother, Granddaughter Bond: Mother's Day Photos

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Whether it's through their personality, looks, hobbies or a combination of everything, daughters become a reflection of the woman who raised them. With Mother's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across California to share their "mother-daughter lookalike" photos.

Karen Griego points out that mother-daughter relationships take many forms. "This is my beautiful granddaughter Samantha that I’ve raised since she was born. This picture was taken at the San Leandro Marina where we love to walk. We have such a strong bond and we are best friends. We love going to festivals, concerts, walks, and most of all the movies. I’m sure many grandparents these days are raising their grandchildren and sometimes it’s hard but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. She is the reason I get up everyday and she is the sunshine in my life . She knows I will always be there for her for the rest of my life. There are all kinds of Mothers out there and I’m proud to be Samantha’s Mother. Happy Mother’s Day!!"
