The boy was taken to the Hayward Kaiser but doctors initially could not find anything wrong with him after doing scans of his neck and head, according to KCBS.

Because Corey couldn’t straighten his head, Glenn later took him to an Oakland hospital where doctors discovered his neck was broken.

Doctors performed surgery on his neck last Wednesday, KCBS announced on Monday.

Corey is now recovering and must where a neck brace for at least three months.

Meanwhile, authorities are still searching for the driver of the silver sedan.
