Was Santa Creative This Year?
Persons over 50 can learn to draw and stimulate their brain while doing art at San Leandro Senior Center
If Santa was drawing on the right side of the brain, then he most certainly stuffed a Creative Drawing class into your New Year stocking. I’ve been teaching this drawing class at the Senior Center in San Leandro for a year now and it is amazing to me how fast my students are learning to draw. My career as a Graphic Designer was financially rewarding, but teaching Seniors to draw is feeding my soul.
I have always believed that anyone can learn to draw if they are taught how to really see things. The Betty Edward's method, from her book, "Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain" is perfect for Seniors. I use this technique in my class to stimulate the creative side of the brain. The fact that it works in older students is a very exciting thing to experience. Adding art to your life is amazing and this class is proving that it is never too late to learn to draw.
