City Council Approves Halus Windmill

The San Leandro City Council appoved the building of a windmill by Halus Power Systems Monday night. The council voted five to one in favor of the project, disappointing the 1,500-member Heron Bay Homeowners Association. Ploughman’s Restaurant Reopens

Ploughman's Restaurant, long been a downtown San Leandro favorite, has a fresh new look. The eatery now has a new look and amenities, including new ceilings, floors and a new kitchen. The reconstruction also gave the restaurant wheelchair restroom access.

Ploughman's is located at 1600 Washington Avenue. At least one big change lies ahead: as soon as some new kitchen equipment is installed, perhaps by mid-April, Ploughman's will begin offering early dinners.

BART Police Arrest Second Suspect in Bay Fair Shooting

Authorities have arrested a second suspect in connection to the January shooting at Bay Fair BART station that claimed the life of a Fremont man. Police announced that officers arrested Andre Smith, 18, in connection to the shooting, in which the victim, 50-year-old Kenneth Lee Seets, was waiting for a bus outside of the BART station when he was fatally shot.
