2017 Veterans Day Celebration
Los Angeles Department of Military & Veterans Affairs and Chinese American Military Support (CAMS) joint force to honor veterans.

On November 11, 2017 At the San Marino City Center, the Los Angeles Department of Military & Veterans Affairs and Chinese American Military Support (CAMS) jointly present “Celebrate Veterans Day with a special recognition of Chinese American Veterans”
CAMS was established in 2003 at the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the early days, it was simple gathering of friends and family with loved ones in the military. Its role has evolved and expanded to a multi-functional, non-profit support group in the Chinese-American community. Organizer/Board member John Fu said “We provide family support and career development guidance to the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces. We also strive to encourage and educate the general public regarding military service and the need for our united support.”

At the opening ceremony John Fu welcome the audiences followed with remarks by Kathryn Barger, Los County Supervisor 5th District (San Marian) and San Marino Mayor Dr. Richard Sun.
Keynote speaker WW2 veteran Warren J. Arnett shared his amazing war story, he was born in 1925 in Los Angeles, graduated from South Pasadena High School, Serving Army Air Corp between 1943-1947. March 1944, in was assigned to US Army 10th Air Force in India and flew C47 cargo plane. Later on September 1944 He was transferred to US Army 14th Air Force.
During that period he had fought 10-12 hours each day to air drop supply to the Chinese ground troops at Tengchong, Longling (border of China & Burma) battle field.
After Japanese surrender in 1945, he was transferred to Kunming, and in August 1946
He flew the first airplane with several Chinese General from China to Taiwan. 1946 he returned to the States, graduated from USC, his total flight time had been over 4,000 hours.
