Attempted Burglary In San Marino Triggers Road Closure

Police investigated an attempted burglary that happened Monday morning on Cumberland Road.

SAN MARINO, CA —Three attempted burglary suspects were arrested Monday and one remained at large following a short pursuit in the San Marino area.

San Marino police said they responded around 7:10 a.m. to an attempted burglary in the 2700 block of Cumberland Road.

According to the San Marino Tribune, a resident called police to report seeing four people in the backyard of a neighbor's home. When police arrived, one suspect was arrested, while two others fled on foot and another drove away in a vehicle.

Police Chief John Incontro told the paper the suspect who fled in a vehicle crashed on San Gabriel Boulevard but managed to escape. Police established a perimeter in the area of Gainsborough Drive and Palomar Road, and the other two suspects were ultimately arrested.

No injuries were reported.
