Standoff Shuts Down Alhambra Neighborhood

Pedestrians and vehicles are being kept away from an Alhambra neighborhood as a precaution.​

ALHAMBRA, CA —Deputies called out a SWAT unit Wednesday to arrest an armed person who was barricaded in a residence in Alhambra.

Police officers and sheriff's deputies went to the area of Pepper Street and Raymond Avenue late Wednesday morning, and pedestrians and vehicles were being kept away from the neighborhood as a precaution.

Sheriff's crisis negotiators were also sent to the scene.

It was not immediately known what the person was wanted for. The standoff was continuing early Wednesday afternoon.
