Police Chief Encourages Neighborhood Watch in Light of Cairo Protests

After releasing excerpts of an e-mail from a friend in Cairo, San Marino Police Department Chief John T. Schaefer suggested Wednesday that local residents consider joining Neighborhood Watch, according to City News Service.

Schaefer's friend described people in Cairo neighborhoods uniting to protect each other from dangerous people in the absence of police during the large protests flooding the streets, CNS reported.
