San Marino: Vaccine Update And Virtual Town Hall Event
"We understand there may be conflicting information as to which individuals and groups are eligible for a vaccine. "
We understand there may be conflicting information as to which individuals and groups are eligible for a vaccine. The City of San Marino falls under the authority of LA County Public Health, and they are currently prioritizing healthcare workers before expanding availability to those 65 and older, as some other counties already have done. (As a reminder, our neighbor, the City of Pasadena, has its own Public Health Department and Health Officer. The City of Pasadena has its own allocation of vaccines and process for distribution separate from the rest of the County. This is reason you may be hearing conflicting information from your friends in Pasadena.)
We understand the frustration that conflicting and changing information causes, especially considering the importance of getting vaccinated. Please keep in mind that LA County is the largest county in the state, so the coordination and distribution process is much more complex and involves partnerships with hospitals, large public facilities, pharmacies, and private care physicians. Residents can get the most up-to-date information by going to www.VaccinateLACounty.com and signing up for their mailing list. If you have a primary care physician, you can also reach out to them to determine if they plan on providing vaccines for patients.
