2 Marin County Bike Shop Burglary Suspects Arrested

The suspects stole seven bikes valued a combined $29,000 according to police.

LARKSPUR, CA — A business owner with remote access to surveillance video helped officers arrest two men suspected of burglarizing his downtown Larkspur bike shop early Monday morning, Central Marin Police said.

Officers responded at around 1:45 a.m. to a reported burglary in progress at the Village Peddler bike shop, police said.

The bike shop owner reported seeing two people stealing bicycles on a live video feed according to police.

He gave a description of a white van associated with the burglary he said left the store heading south on Magnolia Avenue, police said.

Officers saw the van just minutes later headed east on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, police said.
The officers stopped the van in the Bon Air Center parking lot and detained two occupants, police said.

A search of the van revealed seven bicycles, a saw, a crowbar and other tools according to police.

The bikes ranged in price from $2500 to $5500 and were valued at a combined $29,000 according to police.

Douglas Rivas, 37, of Vallejo and 39-year-old Victor Blanco Dionisio, who has no fixed address, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Both suspects were booked at Marin County Jail.
