NOVATO, CA – A Marin County Superior Court judge last week sentenced a convicted Novato killer to life in prison, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
Juan Carlos Martinez Henriquez, 22, a former Novato High School student, was convicted earlier this year of murder and attempted murder in connection with the 2016 gang-related killing of a classmate during an assault that left another classmate seriously injured.
Martinez Henriquez on Tuesday was sentenced by Judge Kelly Simmons to life without the possibility of parole and a consecutive term of 40 years to life for the attempted murder conviction.

Martinez Henriquez’s attorneys had sought a sentence of 41 years to life with the possibility of parle according to the report.
