Coronavirus: All Catholic Schools Closed In Marin County
The Archdiocese of SF is closing its schools in Marin and elsewhere in the Bay Area after a student tested positive for the new coronavirus.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Archdiocese of San Francisco is closing its schools in Marin County and elsewhere in the Bay Area after a student tested positive for the new coronavirus.
About 90 Archdiocesan preschools, elementary schools and high schools in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties will shut down Thursday, March 12 through Wednesday, March 25, Pamela Lyons, superintendent of schools, said Tuesday in a letter to families. Classes and student-related activities will be canceled, including school and community events.
"Additional diagnoses of COVID-19 across our schools are likely," Lyons said.

"This closure includes any planned school events such as fundraisers, community events as well as field trips."
Instruction will continue using distance learning as outlined by the schools.

"I understand the hardship this may cause for families," Lyons said. "We made this decision out of maximum consideration for the health and safety of our children and school community members."
