Golden Gate Bridge Restrictions in Place for Super Bowl
San Francisco is expecting one million visitors during Super Bowl week. This one decision will leave many disappointed.

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the world’s iconic symbols - immediately identifiable as San Francisco.
Unfortunately, sometimes it is loved too much.
At Christmas time, visitors trying to reach Vista Point and the Welcome Center backed up traffic. To prevent that from happening again, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District decided to restrict access.

Visitors can still access one of the world’s great view by taking a tour bus, corporate shuttle, taxi or ride-sharing service.
Electronic signs will warn drivers about the restrictions.
“The Super Bowl is an opportunity to show off our world class sights and transportation,” says Denis Mulligan, General Manager & CEO of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District. “We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from around the globe, while keeping our local residents moving across the Bay by bridge, ferry, and bus.”
Golden Gate Ferry will enhance service between Marin and San Francisco to accommodate visitors.
