2 Children, Woman Seriously Injured In Highway 101 Crash In Marin

The woman and children were traveling in a Toyota RAV4 near Miller Creek Road when the Toyota collided with another vehicle, officials said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A woman and two young children suffered major, life-threatening injuries in a collision on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Marin County Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The woman and children were traveling north in a Toyota RAV4 near Miller Creek Road around 8:20 a.m. when the Toyota collided with another vehicle, Barclay said.

The Toyota went down a hill and good Samaritans stopped to remove the woman, a 3-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl from the vehicle before it went up in flames, Barclay said.

Both children were taken to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and the woman was taken to John Muir Walnut Creek Medical Center.

The CHP received several accounts of what happened and is still investigating, Barclay said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A vehicle crash resulting in a car fire prompted a Sig-alert Wednesday morning on Highway 101 in Marinwood.

The crash happened on northbound Highway 101 near St. Vincent's Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol's incident log. At least one person was reportedly injured in the crash.

The accident was reported shortly after 8:20 a.m. and a Sig-alert was issued about 25 minutes later, according to the CHP's incident log. The right two lanes were blocked.
