Man Accused Of Meth, Firearm Possession In San Rafael
A 61-year-old man was arrested in San Rafael on suspicion of several crimes including possession of methamphetamine for sale, police said.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — A 61-year-old man was arrested Thursday in San Rafael in connection with several crimes including possession of methamphetamine for sale, police said.
Wilford Allen, a resident of Marin County, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and for other drug possession crimes, according to the San Rafael Police Department.
On Thursday at 4:45 p.m., an officer with the San Rafael Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a traffic signal in the area of Bellam Boulevard and Francisco Boulevard East.

During the stop, the officer used a K9 unit to search the vehicle, and the K9 alerted the officer to the presence of drugs in the vehicle's trunk, police said.
The officer discovered a bag containing a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a .38-caliber revolver, a large sum of money and a small amount of heroin and cocaine.

Allen was subsequently arrested.
