Marin County Election: More Than 100k Have Already Voted By Mail
More than half of the registered voters in Marin County have already voted as the county received a landslide of early vote-by-mail ballots.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Early, in-person voting only began Saturday, but more than half of all voters in Marin County have already cast their ballots. The county's Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts, is predicting that more than 90 percent of voters in Marin will cast a ballot this year, according to her office.
There are 175,220 registered voters within the county. Last week, election officials eclipsed the 100,000 mark of ballots cast. As of Thursday, 106,305 alone had voted by mail.
The county sent 182,612 vote-by-mail ballots earlier this month, including reissued ballots that may have been lost or damaged.

The county has yet to report numbers on in-person voting, as vote centers opened county-wide Saturday.
Vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday, and will open again on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
While there has been some anxiety about potential delays tallying votes in California, Marin County election officials said that typically an election is not considered final by the registrar until several weeks after Election Day.
Ballots that are counted last are the ones from those who walk into a vote center in the final days leading up to the election and those who register to vote on Election Day. Ballots counted first will likely be those who mailed a ballot in early or the ones done in-person at a polling place that don't experience complications with signature verification, county officials said.
