MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday discussed the county's COVID-19 vaccine rollout strategy following their announcement that the county will allow vaccines to reach residents aged 65 or older beginning next week.

The supervisors asked county Public Health Officer Matthew Willis questions about when their constituents can expect to receive a vaccine, and how the county's supply will be affected.

Willis noted that people 75 and older are still at the top of Marin's priority list, and will likely receive vaccines sooner than those between ages 65 and 74 who are eligible to sign up to receive one starting next week.

"We are working to make sure that we're protecting appointments for those who are most vulnerable at every stage, and that will lead some to be frustrated by not being able to get appointments, and that's just unfortunately the consequence of scarcity itself," Willis said.
