A few years later, the family bought their first house in Concord, CA, with a large swimming pool in which Richard loved to swim.

While Richard was attending Concord High School, Maria fell ill with displaced disk complications and became a paraplegic. Richard was a devoted son who helped tremendously with the care of his Mother.

He graduated from High School in 1982 on the Principal’s Honor Roll.

His Father believed that Richard had an exceptionally high IQ, and Richard proved that as he went on to earn his B.A. in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1988, and more recently a degree in Advanced Character Animation at AnimationMentor.com in 2010.

Animation was Richard’s passion. He considered himself a Professional Freelance Animator and 3D Graphics Artist.

He loved watching all the big studio animated movies and discussing them with friends and colleagues.

Although he always held a full-time job within the industry, he also had several side projects on which he loved working.

No matter where he worked, lived or played, Richard always cared deeply about the people and animals around him.

He was a gentle soul with the kindest heart, a good friend and a loving son.

Heaven has gained an Angel that Earth will sorely miss.

Richard was cremated and a private Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.
