Pedestrian Hit in Downtown Intersection

Man taken to hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, a fire official said.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday in downtown San Rafael and rushed to a hospital, according to the San Rafael Fire Department.

The man, estimated to be in his 40s, was hit at the corner of Fourth Street and Tamalpais Avenue — in front of Extreme Pizza — at 5:29 p.m., Battalion Chief Jim Lydon said. The man was conscious as he was treated by paramedics and taken to Marin General Hospital, he said.

The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.
